Pupuseria La Quebrada Reviews
What a wonderful little gem this place is. My husband and I had breakfast here on our first visit. The owners were quite welcoming and attentive. I ordered the shredded beef egg breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. The portion was so generous that I took half of it home for another time. My husband had one of the chorizo egg breakfasts and ate every bit of it. The coffee was hot and delicious too! The restaurant is within walking distance of our home so I'm sure we'll come back. Next time we are going to try the pupusas that they are known for making. This is a very small place but it has a nice feel to it.
ordered for pick up ! - pupusas chicharon w/ queso ! very flavorful & cheesey ! bean and cheese ! had more bean then cheese so it wasn't my favorite. but flavor was there. we got both mild & hot sauce and we didn't know the different when we first got them but i assumed the lighter one would be the mild and darker was spicier ! i was totally wrong ! i was confused on why the darker one wasn't spicy until i tried the lighter one and man did it have a good kick to it ! definitely recommend this place ! the man who took my order over the phone, his English was kind of broken but he understood me perfectly and explained everything great ! the service was fast and professional!
Found our new spot! Instantly fell inlove with the chips and salsa they brought out! Reminds me of my suegra's! We got coffee, it absolutely fantastic! Reminds me of the coffee beans my suegra brings me from El Salvador. So much better then your average Folgers. I got the Chicharron y queso pupusas. They were SOOO tasty!! Everything here was amazing and the service was superb!! Can't wait to come back!
Delicious! Some of the best pupusas I've ever had. Found them by accident. They also have a Thai place there too.
The pupusas were flavorful and very authentic. Worth the drive from Long Beach. Will be coming back for more!
I consider it a soft opening so far, as some of the items on the menu were not available yet (especially the combination plates). But I suspect you didn't come here for the combos. The stars of the show are the pupusas, of course. There is a strong sense of Salvadoran national pride here, as the map of El Salvador is literally the logo of the restaurant. The Salvadoran flags adorn the interior, and the clientele seems to reflect that too. The menu is completely in Spanish. I have rudimentary Spanish linguistic skill, so I had to use Google translate for some of the items. The pupusas were great. The bread was perfectly grilled, and the filling was gooey and rich. The salad that accompanied the pupusas was refreshing. For all dine-in patrons, you receive a crispy bowl of tortilla chips with salsa. The chips were well-toasted, and that's the way I like them. The horchata drink was typical--not bad but it certainly didn't stand out. I did like the particulate condiment in the drink. Attentive service was a plus, but I had to wait quite a while for my simple order (two pupusas). Overall, if you want to experience an authentic Salvadoran dining setting, look no further.
